[MASTER] Therapist Booking Form

Hi I’m Rebecca

I am a child and young adult therapist specialising in in trauma with over 10 years experience supporting children, young people, and young adults who have experienced trauma as a result of significant harm-including sexual, physical and emotional abuse, neglect and experiencing or witnessing domestic abuse.

For several years, I worked in and led a team of therapists within a specialist trauma service, where I saw firsthand how difficult it can be for families to access the right support at the right time. I also have a strong background working in schools, where I supported children facing a wide range of emotional and behavioural challenges within their everyday environments.

I know how hard it is as a parent or carer to watch your child or teenager struggle-and how frustrating and disheartening it can feel when you’re met with long waiting lists or unclear pathways to support. Please know: you’re not alone. reaching out is brave and important first step.

As both a therapist and a mum, I truly understand the emotional weight that comes with wanting the best for your child or young person, and the uncertainty that often comes with trying to find the right help.

My approach is trauma-informed, compassionate, and grounded in building safe, trusting relationships-with both young people and their families. Whether your child or teen has experienced trauma, is struggling with anxiety, low mood, emotional overwhelm, or you simply feel something isn’t quite right, I’m here to listen, support and help guide you through it-at their pace.

Together we can create a space where your child or young adult feels seen, heard, and supported.

How we work together:

Initially I will complete an assessment which is gathering information around the current struggles, including family dynamic, environment, education and social aspects to understand the needs of the young person and to put together a bespoke package of support tailored individually.

I use a number of approaches and techniques within the therapy sessions including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Therapeutic play, Counselling, Creative arts and therapies. Neuro Linguistic Programming, stabilisation, grounding techniques and psycho education, depending on the young person and their needs.

I start by building a therapeutic relationship which I feel is the most important part of any therapy journey, offering a safe place, enabling the child and young person to be able to work safely through understanding their emotions and manage their reactions by using a number of strategies. I also work with parents to ensure they can support their child with any techniques they have learnt. I also offer sessions to parents to help them understand their child’s symptoms. I will see the child once a week, a parent is a parent 24/7 so it is important they are able to support their child.

Sessions are tailored to the individual needs. which can be creative, talking, play and I adapt as needed drawing from different modalities and experiences.

Sessions can be from 30 to 50 minutes dependant on the child. I may also use outcome measures that is to help us see the impact the struggles are having, and also to monitor progress through the therapeutic journey, we will also review progress.

Thank you for considering me as your therapist.
