OUR NAME

I chose the name Grey Matters because it refers to the brain. The brain is very important in our work as we need to know how it works so we can heal from our pain.

Our brain plays a role in everything we do. It stores memories, let’s us feel pleasure and pain, and it reacts with the speed of light to things going on in the world, all the time keeping our bodies running.

If we suffer trauma it changes our brain. This might include feelings of threat, loss of safety, self-image, emotional functioning, relationship issues, phobias, sleep disturbances, anxiety, concentration, low mood etc.

The word “grey” comes into therapy too, as we look for “grey” areas. Not everything is black and white and sometimes we need another perspective to give us a balanced view. So grey does matter!
