Grey Matters Centre is one of the U.K.’s leading Mental Health Centres based in Ashby, Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire. We are looking for highly motivated, affiliate psychological practitioners, working in their own private practice, to join our team and help us on our mission to provide the best service possible to a wide variety of mental health needs, using a discipline of empirically evidenced therapeutic models.

We are keen to hear from Psychotherapists and Counsellors who work with Individuals, Couples, Families, Young People and Children and who are an expert within their specialist area.

Outline of role

To deliver high quality therapeutic interventions to a range of clients on a face-to-face basis

To attend regular external clinical supervision

To attend team meetings

To ensure your diary is kept up-to-date on our digital booking system

To have the capacity to work autonomously and within the BACP, UCKP or equivalent, ethical framework

To work within the limits of level of training and experience

To keep up-to-date with the newest, empirically evidenced trainings

Maintain professional codes of conduct at all times

Following safeguarding, data protection, confidentiality and other protocols as necessary

Keeping clear lines of communication with all relevant colleagues within Grey Matters Centre

Liaise with other professionals to ensure safety and wellbeing of clients


Specialist training in an area complimentary to our company

A minimum of 3 years as a practicing therapist within the specialist field

Provide copies of public liability insurance, qualifications and trainings and up-date these continuously

Registered with appropriate regulatory body e.g. BACP, UKCP etc

Have a good knowledge of booking systems

Resilience and ability to cope with challenging situations

Current Enhanced Children and Adult DBS Clearance

Ability to represent Grey Matters Centre in other areas of work

Experience of psycho-education delivery and evaluation

Experience in self-harm and suicidal ideation presentations
