Most panic attacks start with a very bad one which may seem very frightening to the person having it. They give us distressing, horrible symptoms such as: hyperventilating, numbness, dizziness, tight chest, tingling fingers etc.

Once we have had one we tend to reference the situation with what happened but not only that, we tend to grow the associations and have more panic attacks in different places too! 

Some symptoms may include

  • Palpitations, pounding heart or accelerated heart rate
  • Breathing difficulties
  • Feelings of choking
  • Feeling weak, faint or dizzy
  • Nausea or stomach pains
  • Tingling or numbness in hands or fingers
  • Feeling sweaty or having the chills
  • Chest pains
  • Sweating
  • Trembling or shaking
  • Feeling detached from yourself
  • Feeling the world is unreal
  • Feeling a loss of control
  • Fearing going to faint
  • Fearing having a heart attack
  • Fearing going to die

Criteria to access this service

  • If you are suffering with any of the above symptoms and you would like to do the work to make the changes you want.
  • If you have been diagnosed with panic attacks/anxiety attacks. You do not need a referral from your G.P.

Sometimes panic attacks can be treated in as little as three sessions if they are a current problem and we only need to focus on this work alone. One of the therapies that we may use for this and that works well, is the widely known Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). 

But, panic attacks can indicate trauma in a person’s history which indicates much more work is needed to address the possible underlying causes. Being trauma informed means that if this is the case we can get to the root cause so that you can heal and finally move forward.
