I am a qualified counsellor with over 15 years of experience supporting children, young people and adults with their mental health and wellbeing.
I have a particular passion and specialism in working with young carers, children and teenagers affected by trauma, and young people who struggle to attend school (school refusers). These experiences often bring unique emotional pressures, feelings of isolation, guilt, anxiety, or low self-worth – and I provide a safe space to help young people process and manage these complex emotions. Research consistently shows that early emotional support can make a significant difference, and I have worked with success in these areas to enable positive mental health.
I believe everyone deserves to feel heard, understood and supported. Whether it’s a child finding their voice through play, a teenager managing pressure and expectations, or an adult navigating life’s challenges, I’m here to walk alongside you.
There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to counselling. Every person’s story is unique, and so is the way we work together. Sometimes talking is enough; other times, creative tools, mindfulness, or gentle grounding exercises can help express feelings in a safe and natural way. I adapt my methods for each individual, to help you in a way that feels right for you.
Counselling for Children and Young People (ages 6 and up)
For many young people, counselling can feel new or even a little scary. My first goal is to create a calm, relaxed space where they can feel comfortable just bing themselves. We can start with games, toys, or colouring – whatever feels right for your child.
Using creative approaches like play, art, or stories, we explore which might be going on underneath the surface. Children often express emotions more easily through play; with the right support, this can help them build resilience, confidence, and new coping skills.
I have extensive experience supporting:
- Young carers managing adult responsibilities at home.
- Children and teens affected by trauma or loss.
- School refusers and those experiencing school-related anxiety.
Counselling for Adults
Reaching out for counselling as an adult can feel like a big step. You might be struggling with anxiety, low confidence, loneliness, or simply feeling stuck. Whatever you’re facing, you don’t have to do it alone.
Together, we’ll explore what’s going on and find ways forward that feels right for you. Alongside talking therapy, I sometimes use creative or practical techniques to help you reconnect, reflect, and move towards positive change.
Supporting parents
Being a parent can bring incredible joy, but it can also feel overwhelming when your child is struggling. You might feel unsure how to help or worried you’re getting it wrong, and that’s completely okay.
I offer sessions for parents who want to better understand their child’s needs, strengthen communication at home, and find ways to look after their own wellbeing too. Together, we can explore practical strategies and emotional support for both you and your child.
A holistic approach
Alongside counselling, I’m also a trained children’s yoga instructor. I often weave in mindfulness, breathing, and grounding exercises; simple but powerful tools that can help reduce anxiety, improve focus, and bring more balance into daily life.
How we work together
Counselling is different for everyone. For children and young people, sessions usually las 30-40 minutes and are tailored to their age and comfort level. For adults, sessions are 50 minutes and move at a pace that feels right for you.
Above all, my counselling space is welcoming, down-to-earth environment where you’ll always be met with kindness, understanding, and genuine care.
We’ll work together, at your pace, to find your voice, build confidence, and strengthen wellbeing.
