[MASTER] Therapist Booking Form

Hello I’m Aelia

Thank you for taking the time to read my page. I am a qualified integrative person centred and CBT therapist working with many different theoretical approaches. I offer tailored therapy sessions individual to each client and their specific needs. From taking the brave decision to have therapy to actually walking through the door it may feel daunting, scary or overwhelming. However, please be assured I offer a warm, friendly, safe space where sessions will be led by you at your own pace. I feel privileged to be able to provide this space to my clients with compassion, empathy and no judgement.

Whether you are adjusting to a new phase of life or feeling lost you do not have to go through it alone. As a therapist I work with adults of all ages, especially those who may be navigating life changes such as grief, family shifts or retirement. My approach is gentle but grounded, I will walk alongside you helping you to understand what you are feeling and guiding you towards new ways of coping, connecting and finding meaning. You may be carrying long held pain and it can feel hard to let someone in. Allow me to help you unpack the boulders from your emotional backpack. I have worked with many clients who were facing the real everyday struggles, I have seen how powerful it can be simply to have someone to talk to who truly listens.

Life changes, even positive ones can feel overwhelming or daunting. They can stir up unresolved feelings of loss, hopelessness, loneliness or lack of self worth. The brain can perceive the unfamiliar as a threat, triggering a stress response. We can identify and challenge negative thought patterns that may be contributing to your anxiety to help you grow and embrace these new challenges and beginnings.

I believe the therapeutic relationship  is a collaborative journey where you will be heard and accepted enabling you to explore struggles that may be impacting your life. Together we will work towards a clearer understanding of your thoughts and feelings, helping you find clarity and renewed hope. I have experience of working with all ages and offer a fully inclusive safe space for all sexual orientations and identities. My clients may be experiencing anxiety or depression, feelings of sadness, loneliness and isolation, many could be struggling with bereavement, grief and loss. Perhaps having difficulty coping with everyday life, suffering a lack of confidence and self esteem or going through relationship difficulties.

I have worked with many clients who have felt they have lost their way or their self identity. Together we worked on reconnecting with their strengths and self worth, allowing them to adapt and grow utilising practical strategies to help with navigating the transitions and demands of life. You may be struggling to make sense or cope with the lasting traumatic impact of an event past or present. Through building our therapeutic relationship we can help you to reflect, understand and explore your thoughts and feelings, working sensitively to enable you to begin to process and heal.

A little about me, I have had my own personal therapy following a sudden bereavement and traumatic life events. This has lead me to become a huge advocate of the healing power therapy can offer. I spent many years supporting adults with learning disabilities, much of the time I gave voluntarily. I became passionate about how I can do more to help them understand their feelings, thoughts and emotions to ultimately improve their wellbeing and happiness. This passion and desire to help was my drive to achieve my Counselling Degree. I gain huge reward from helping every client and take pride in my integrity, resilience and trustworthiness. I believe every client therapist relationship is unique and I look forward to sharing your healing journey with you.
