CHRONIC FATIGUE / M.E.

Living with Chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) or myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME) can be an exhausting and often invisible struggle. It affects not just your energy, but your sense of identity, confidence and independence. Tasks that once felt simple can suddenly feel impossible, and the unpredictable nature of symptoms can leave you feeling frustrated, guilty, or misunderstood.

Many people living with chronic fatigue describe the same painful paradox – wanting to do more, but feeling trapped in a body that won’t cooperate. You may look well on the outside, yet inside you’re managing constant exhaustion, pain, or a fog that clouds even your thoughts.

It’s important to know: this is not laziness, weakness, or lack of willpower. M.E. is a genuine, complex condition that affects the nervous, immune and energy systems of the body. You didn’t choose this, and you don’t have to face it alone.

Understanding What’s Happening

CFS/M.E. can affect people in many different ways, both physically and emotionally. Symptoms often fluctuate from day to day, making it hard to plan or predict how you’ll feel.

You may experience:

Extreme fatigue that doesn’t improve with rest.

Muscle pain, headaches, or flu-like symptoms

Brain fog or difficulty concentrating

Dizziness, sensitivity to light or sound

Unrefreshing sleep

Emotional fatigue – sadness, frustration or grief over lost energy and freedom

Living with an unpredictable condition can also bring feelings of isolation or loss- loss of routine, connection, and sometimes identity. It’s natural to grieve the life you had before.

Working Together to Heal

Therapy can offer a supportive space to explore both the emotional and practical impact of chronic fatigue. While there may not be a quick medical cure, there is a great deal that can be done to improve quality of life, restore hope, and help live in harmony with your body rather than in constant battle against it.

Together we can:

  • Explore the emotional impact of living with a chronic condition
  • Develop pacing and energy-management strategies
  • Learn tools to manage stress and support the nervous system
  • Work through feelings of frustration, grief, or guilt
  • Reconnect with meaning, joy, and purpose – even within limitation

Healing in this context, doesn’t mean ignoring your symptoms. It means listening to your body, understanding its boundaries, and building a life that feels manageable and fulfilling.

There is Hope

Although M.E. and chronic fatigue can be all-consuming, recovery and improvement are possible. With compassion, self-understanding, and gentle support, many people find renewed energy, resilience, and a deeper connection to themselves.

You are not defined by exhaustion. You are defined by your strength – by the courage it takes to keep showing up, even when your body makes every step feel heavy.

Together, we can help you move toward balance, acceptance, and hope – pne careful, supported moment at a time.

How we can help
We offer an initial assessment which is an hour long, Within this in-depth discussion we will ask you about your presenting issues, your childhood and any other relevant history. We will also be asking you of the areas you want to work on and any goals you may have.
The treatment plan is tailored to each clients individual needs. which may include understanding the root causes of your problems and what is keeping them going. We will work on any triggers you may have and help you with any other areas of your life that are affected by your issues.
We will teach you tools and resources for the future so you can establish a full and lasting, sustainable recovery.

CFS/ME can indicate trauma in a person’s history which indicates deeper work is needed to address the underlying causes. Being trauma informed means that if this is the case we can get down to the root cause so that you can heal and finally move forward.
