EFT- EMOTIONAL FREEDOM TECHNIQUE

Hello and welcome.

You might be here because something feels overwhelming right now.

Perhaps your mind won’t switch off, your body feels tense, or emotions seem to build up quickly and feel hard to manage. You might be feeling anxious, stressed, or carrying something that just won’t settle – even when you try to distract yourself or “push through.”

It can feel frustrating when you know you should be okay, but your body doesn’t feel that way.

That’s because stress and emotional experiences aren’t just held in the mind – they’re held in the body too.

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), often called tapping therapy, offers a gentle, body-based way of calming your nervous system and releasing emotional overwhelm. Using light tapping on specific points while focusing on what you’re feeling, EFT helps your system begin to settle, process, and find a sense of balance again.

Many people experience EFT as grounding, soothing, and surprisingly powerful – helping them feel calmer, clearer, and more in control, even around things that have felt stuck for a long time.

Understanding What’s Happening

When we’re overwhelmed by stress, trauma, fear, or painful memories, our body’s threat system switches on – leaving us feeling anxious, tense, or disconnected. EFT helps interrupt that stress response and signals to the brain that it is safe to relax. 

By tapping on acupressure points (similar to those used in acupuncture but without needles) while acknowledging how you feel, you create a powerful mind-body shift. This reduces the emotional “charge” attached to certain thoughts or memories, hleping you feel more grounded and in control.

EFT can be used to support:

Anxiety and panic

  • Trauma and PTSD symptoms
  • Low self-esteem
  • Stress and overwhelm
  • Phobias and fears
  • Grief and sadness
  • Anger and frustration
  • Pain and physical tension
  • Negative beliefs about yourself

It’s a flexible, body-based tool-gentle enough for young people, yet effective for adults carrying deep emotional pain.


Working Together to Heal

During an EFT session, we’ll explore what you’re feeling and identify the thoughts, memories, or emotions that are causing distress. I’ll guide you through the tapping sequence, helping you stay grounded and supported throughout.

You don’t have to dive into painful detail-EFT can be used from a place of safety, working gently at a distance until you feel ready to go deeper.

As tapping continues, people often notice:

  • Emotional intensity reducing
  • A sense of relief or lightness
  • Greater clarity
  • Less reactivity to triggers
  • Increased calm and balance
  • More compassion for themselves

EFT can be practiced during sessions and also taught as a tool you can use at home when you need comfort, grounding, or emotional regulation.
