Meet Andrea
Integrative Counsellor Specialising in Late-Diagnosis ADHD, Neurodivergent Burnout and Identity
You might look capable on the outside – holding things together, managing work, parenting responsibilities – while internally feeling exhausted, overwhelmed or on the edge of burnout.
Perhaps your mind never truly switches off. You replay conversations. You over think decisions. You start projects with energy and then feel frustrated when they stall. You may have spent years wondering why everything feels harder for you than it seems to for other people.
Many people I work with are late-diagnosed ADHD or neurodivergent – or beginning to question whether they might be. Some are waiting for assessment. Some have recently received a diagnosis and are trying to make sense of what it means. Others are simply tired of masking, pushing through and feeling as though they are “too much” or “not enough” at the same time.
You don’t have to keep managing this alone.
I’m Andrea, an integrative counsellor offering a calm, neurodiversity-affirming space where you can slow down, untangle what’s been building up for years, and reconnect with who you are beneath the coping strategies.
If you’re feeling burned out, confused, or quietly questioning why life feels this hard, you’re welcome here.
You don't need to be certain to begin.
How We Work Together
Therapy with me isn’t about fixing you. It’s about understanding you.
As in integrative counsellor, I draw from different therapeutic approaches depending on what feels most helpful to you. That might include exploring patterns from earlier life, working gently with overwhelm and nervous system regulation, or finding practical ways to reduce burnout and self-criticism in everyday life.
If you are neurodivergent – diagnosed, self-identified or questioning – our work can include:
- Understanding masking and its impact
- Processing late diagnosis and identity shifts
- Navigating sensory overload and burnout
- Building self-trust and self-acceptance
- Untangling shame that was never yours to carry
Sessions move at your pace.
There is no pressure tp perform, explain perfectly or have everything figured out.
Some people come with a clear goal. Others arrive simply knowing they cannot keep going the way they are.
Both are welcome.
Over time, therapy can help you feel:
More regulated and less overwhelmed
Clearer about who you are and what you need
Less self-critical and more self-compassionate
More able to make choices from stability rather than survival
You don’t need to change who you are. You may just need space to understand yourself differently.
You can change therapist, pause or reschedule at any point.
Experience and perspective
Alongside my core counselling training, I have developed particular experience supporting adults experiencing burnout, identity shifts and the long-term impact of chronic stress.
Much of my work involves helping people make sense of patterns that have followed them for years – perfectionism, over-functioning, people-pleasing, emotional shutdown or cycles of overwhelm and exhaustion.
I have specific interest in late-diagnosed ADHD and neurodivergence in adulthood, and I remain committed to ongoing professional development in this area. I approach this work from a neurodiversity-affirming and trauma-aware perspective.
I believe coping strategies are rarely random. They are often intelligent adaptions developed in response to earlier environments, expectations or unmet needs.
Therapy, in my view, is not about removing parts of you – but about understanding how they formed, and deciding consciously what you want to keep.
You don't have to have it all figured out to take the first step.
