Meet Annette

Supporting adults with anxiety, depression, grief and baby loss

If you’re living with anxiety, low-mood, intrusive thoughts, poor sleep, emotional exhaustion or a sense of disconnection from yourself, you may feel overwhelmed, stuck or unsure how to move forward. When things feel this heavy, it can be easy to believe that everyone else is coping better – which can feel deeply isolating.

I’m Annette, a qualified counsellor supporting adults of all ages and genders. I work in a person centred and integrative way, meaning therapy is shaped around you, your experiences, and what you need most. I offer a safe, supportive and non-judgemental space, where feeling understood and at ease is central to the work we do together.

If you’re looking for compassionate support with anxiety, depression, grief, baby loss or stillbirth you are very welcome here.

How therapy can help

You may be carrying anxiety that never fully switches off, low mood that lingers, or memories that intrude when you least expect them. Relationships can begin to feel strained, or you might find yourself withdrawing from others altogether.

Therapy offers a space where you don’t have to carry this alone. By gently exploring what you’re experiencing, it becomes possible to reduce distress, build understanding and move towards a greater sense of stability and emotional safety.

I have both professional and personal insight into anxiety, which allows me to work with sensitivity and care. Together, we can explore anxious thoughts, how your body responds to them, and develop coping strategies that support calm, resilience and self-awareness – moving beyond short-term avoidance towards more sustainable ways of coping.

Grief, Baby Loss and Stillbirth

My work in this area is deeply informed by both professional training and lived experience. I understand how isolating and life-altering baby loss and stillbirth can be, and how difficult it can feel to speak openly about your grief.

Grief is not something to “get over,” and it does not follow a straight line. When grief is acknowledged or unsupported, it can become complicated and leave you feeling stuck or disconnected from yourself and others.

I offer a space where your loss, your baby and your story are held with care, respect and compassion. I will walk alongside you at your own pace, supporting you to find meaning, expression and gentleness towards yourself as you heal.

Working together:

I understand how daunting it can feel to access counselling, especially for the first time. Our initial session is a gentle opportunity to explore what’s been happening for you and what you hope to gain from therapy. Sessions are led by you and move at a pace that feels right.

We will regularly review the work together and adapt as needed. My role is to support you with honesty, warmth and care, helping you build confidence, strengthen self-esteem, and make choices that reflect the life you want to live.

Through our work together, I may share practical tools and insights from different therapeutic approaches to support clarity, understanding and emotional wellbeing.

My Background

Alongside my counselling training, I have a long background in family support and children’s care, learning and development. This experience strongly informs my work with adults, particularly around attachment, relationships and emotional wellbeing.

Clients often discribe me as kind, patient, caring and approachable. Creating a trusting therapeutic relationship is central to my work, and I offer a culturally sensitive and LGBTQIA+ affirming space where all aspects of your identity are welcomed and respected.
