Meet Nichola
Trauma-informed Psychotherapy & Art psychotherapy for Adults
Life after trauma can feel lonely, confusing and heavy. You might be coping on the outside, while inside feel anxious, low, disconnected, or unsure who you are anymore. If this resonates, you’re not alone – and you don’t have to carry this by yourself.
I offer a calm, trauma-informed space where you can slow down, make sense of what’s happened, and begin to reconnect with yourself in a way that feels safe and manageable. You won’t be rushed or pushed – we work at a pace that feels right for you.
If you’re looking for compassionate, trauma-informed support to help you feel more grounded and connected again, you’re very welcome here.
How therapy can help
Many people I support feel emotionally overwhelmed, disconnected from their identity, or unsure where to begin. Therapy can offer a gentle starting point – a place where you don’t have to explain everything perfectly or know what the next step should be.
Together, we can explore how past experiences may still be influencing. your thoughts, feelings and patterns today – not to relive them, but to gradually loosen their hold and support change that feel sustainable.
My Approach
My work is grounded in trauma-informed psychotherapy, shaped by compassion, trust and collaboration. I aim to help you build understanding, emotional safety and stability while respecting your boundaries at every stage.
For some people, words alone aren’t enough. Alongside talking therapy, I also offer Art Psychotherapy, a creative and non-verbal way to explore feelings and experiences that may be difficult to put into language. This can be especially helpful when experiences are held in the body or feel easier to express visually or symbolically.
Using are is always a choice. You don’t need to consider yourself creative, and you are never expected to explain or interpret anything before you are ready.
Who I support:
I work with adults who may recognise themselves in some of the following experiences:
- Living with the ongoing impact of trauma or loss
- Anxiety, low mood or emotional overwhelm
- Difficulties with identity, self-worth or relationships
- The impact of discrimination, exclusion or chronic illness
- Wanting to heal, but feeling unsure where to start
I work exclusively with adults of all ages and warmly welcome every aspect of your identity, including culture, faith, sexuality, gender identity, LGBTQ+ identity and neurodiversity.
Working together
Our first session is a gentle conversation about where you are now and what you need most. From there we shape the work together in a way that feels supportive, personalised and achievable.
Therapy may help you:
- Develop greater self-awareness and understanding
- Reduce emotional distress and psychological pain
- Reconnect with a sense of safety, identity and stability
- Build trust in yourself and your experiences
Whether you’re new to therapy or returning after previous experiences, you’re very welcome here.
