Meet Lee
Supporting Adults, with a Special Focus on Men’s Mental Health
If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, angry, burned out or disconnected, it may be that you’ve been carrying too much for too long. Many men come to therapy after years of managing on their own – keeping things going on the outside while something quietly feels off underneath.
I’m Lee, a BACP Senior Accredited Counsellor and Psychotherapist with over 25 years experience supporting adults through some of life’s most challenging experiences. I work with both men and women, and I have a particular focus on men who want space to think clearly, regain steadiness and understand what’s driving the pressure they’re under.
You don’t need to be in crisis to come to therapy. Often it’s about having a private, non-judgemental space to pause, reflect and make sense of things – without being told to “just get on with it” or expected to have the answers.
How therapy can help
Men are often expected to cope quietly, stay strong and push through. Over time, this can lead to chronic stress, anger, burnout, relationship strain or a sense that life is being managed rather than lived.
Therapy offers a grounded, confidential space to step back and understand what’s happening beneath the surface – without judgement of pressure. Together, we’ll look at patterns that may be keeping things stuck and find practical ways to feel more steady, more in control and better equipped to handle what life is throwing at you.
How therapy can help
Men are often expected to cope quietly, to stay strong and not show vulnerability. Over time, this can lead to stress, anger, burnout, relationship difficulties, loneliness or a sense of something missing.
Therapy offers a grounded, confidential space to talk honestly, understand what’s happening beneath the surface, and find practical ways to feel more steady and in control again. Reaching out isn’t failure – it’s a meaningful step towards taking care of yourself and your life.
Whether you’re facing a clear difficulty or just know that something needs to change, therapy can help you feel more like yourself again.
You don't need to be certain to begin.
My approach
The relationship we build together is central to the work. My approach is straightforward, respecful and shaped around you – your pace, your goals and what feels manageable.
We’ll explore thoughts, emotions and patterns that may be influencing how you respond under pressure. Many of these patterns develop early in life and continue to affect confidence, relationships and emotional regulation in subtle but powerful ways.
I work without pressure to share more than you’re ready to. The aim is clarity, self-understanding and practical tools that fit your real life – not a textbook version of it.
Areas I commonly support with
I work with adults experiencing:
- Low mood, anxiety or burnout
- Anger or emotional overwhelm
- Relationship or family difficulties
- A sense of emptiness or disconnection
- Addictive or self-destructive patterns
- The long-term impact of difficult early experiences
You can change therapist, pause or reschedule at any point.
Experience and background
Before training as a therapist, I worked as a professional musician – an experience that taught me how deeply emotions runs beneath the surface, and how much courage it takes to express what’s real.
I’ve also worked within the NHS and the prison system, where I learned the importance of resilience, honesty and human connection, even in the most challenging circumstances. I bring all of this experience into my therapy work.
Alongside my counselling practice, I have practiced Tai Chi for over 40 years and previously taught in London. This long-standing practice informs the calm, grounded way I work and my focus on mind-body awareness.
Working together
Therapy with me is collaborative and flexible. We’ll work in a way that suits you, drawing on a range of approaches to support meaningful and lasting change.
My integrative training allows me to adapt how we work together rather than fitting you into a fixed model. I draw from person-centred therapy, compassion-focused therapy, existential theory, transactional analysis, CBT-informed techniques and mindfulness practices.
You don't have to have it all figured out to take the first step.
