Thank you for taking the time to read my page, I hope that it will help you decide whether I am the right counsellor for you. The first step in making the changes you wish to make is finding the right therapist for you, someone you feel safe with and who you feel comfortable working with. It’s about making the right choice for you.

I have 19 years experience of working as a counsellor, I have worked in local colleges with students (aged 16 plus), mature students and staff, working with a variety of issues, which are often complex. I have also worked with counselling students on their personal development.

I offer counselling within a person centred framework  but work integratively, pulling together skills, knowledge and experience from a variety of backgrounds. I believe that we all have the answers to our problems within ourselves but sometimes they get lost and we need help finding the way forward. You decide the issues you would like to bring to the sessions and what you feel comfortable talking about.

I can offer you a safe, confidential and comfortable environment in which to explore your issues at your own pace. A space to reflect and make sense of what is happening in your life currently.

What treatment looks like

I offer talking therapy tailored to your needs, on a long or short term basis.

My aim is to work alongside you, to build rapport and confidence in the counselling relationship and to help you to come to terms with any difficulties and emotional issues that you may be experiencing and, together, find a way forward by developing self-awareness and exploring your choices.

I aim to help you better manage stress, emotions, feelings and changes which may have left you feeling unsettled.

I will not judge you, I will be respectful of you and your needs.

I will listen to you and work empathically with you.

I hope that my experience and skills can help you with the issues you would like to work on and can help you resolve concerns, improve your self-awareness, self-confidence and self-esteem.
