Are you finding our modern world over-whelming and emotionally demanding? Have you lost your way and need to re-discover who you are and what you want from life? Are you suffering with grief, bereavement and loss, general anxiety, social anxiety, depression, stress, low self-confidence, or just feeling down for some unknown reason? If it sounds like you I can offer therapy, suited to your needs and help you get to the root cause of your problems.

I specialise in grief therapy and working with you at your own pace, I would reassure you that grief is a natural response to your loss, whether it be someone close who you loved dearly, a health related issues thats affected your life, a miscarriage, the loss of a pet or something that’s happened recently or in the past. Through a number of sessions I would enable you to express how your loss is affecting your feelings and the way you behaving and helping you grow around your loss as you realise feelings of denial, anger depression, loss of identity, and low self esteem are all perfectly normal. You may also be feeling the pressure from those who don’t understand and think you should be over it now. I would also be interested to hear any stories you would like to share that would help to ease your pain.

I am also committed to regular training to gain knowledge and understanding in different areas to provide a well-rounded service for my clients.

How we work together
After an initial assessment, through discussion, I will help you gain an understanding of yourself, your situation, what is important to you and what you want from your life. Together we will change any negative thought patterns and I will assist you in acquiring self-help skills to aid your healing process through and beyond therapy. I offer you all this in the hope that your therapy would lead you to live your life more harmoniously. I would be with you every step of the way as you grow, helping you choose your path and work towards your goals and live your life more harmoniously.

I will offer you a safe confidential space where you can talk openly. A place that you can express your feelings and work through your problems knowing you will not be judged or criticised, but are listened to with empathic understanding. I would use an integrative approach and work at your own pace, with sessions ongoing for as long as you require them.

My story
Having suffered with my own mental health issues in the past, both as a patient and a carer, I am passionate about people and the well-being of others. Counselling helped me get through a difficult part of my life as I faced the traumatic and long lasting effects of a cancer diagnosis and treatment (chemo/radiotherapy/surgery) and the side effects of fatigue, foggy-brain, hair loss and also the loss of femininity, whilst trying to continue to run a family home. Counselling also helped me realise and come to terms with events in my childhood that left me feeling worthless, under-valued and ashamed. It gave me an understanding of myself and others around me and the self-help skills I so desperately needed and have continued to use to this day, to maintain my own health and well-being. My experience gave me a desire to help others and give something back. I trained as a counsellor and have consequently helped many people over the years who have suffered with mental health difficulties in many areas.

N.B. I have had both of my Covid vaccinations and my booster.
